National law firm seeks a full-time qualified Paralegal with a great work ethic to join its team in the firm's Santa Ana, CA office. We are a full-service law firm that handles all types of criminal cases.

 

 

ABOUT THE LAW FIRM

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor quality control:
    • Proof petitions for all states
    • Review other miscellaneous work done by case managers
    • Work with other managers to help improve quality and accuracy of case work and legal filings
    • Help maintain task lists and procedures
  • Manage complex/miscellaneous cases:
    • Correspond with clients via e-mail and telephone
    • Correspond with court, prosecutor and other state agencies regarding legal issues and cases
    • Complete legal research and perform analysis of cases
    • Draft affidavits, motions, and custom letters
    • Research filing procedures and legal issues
    • File petitions and motions
    • Prepare documents for attorneys attending court
    • Provides above and beyond customer support to clients
  • Provide additional assistance to case managers
    • Assist in general training new case managers
    • Assist in training current case managers on new procedures and services
    • Manage affidavit contractor work, including sending information to contract writer, processing written affidavits for attorney review, and finalizing affidavits the attorney reviews.
  • Participate in legal meetings

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Minimum of 2 years legal experience or paralegal certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Must have strong client service skills
  • Must have experience drafting petitions, discovery, client intake
  • Strong research, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Be able to multitask and interact with others professionally
  • Be able to take initiative as well as work as part of a team

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

  • $14.00 per hour
